Two ‘golds’ for Mid Devon at the Devon Youth Games

Posted on: 14 July 2015

At the Devon Youth Games held in Paignton last Sunday, Mid Devon’s sports teams won a whole host of medals including gold for the boys’ badminton and the mixed tag rugby. We also won silver in girls’ hockey and disability football, and bronze for girls’ football, girls’ badminton and gymnastics. The overall event was won by Teignbridge, but Mid Devon came a very credible fourth behind some stiff opposition.

Amy Dugard, Consultation & Youth Involvement Officer says: “despite the weather, all the children had a brilliant day and achieved some great team and individual results. This really is a fantastic opportunity for local children, who do not necessarily get the opportunity to compete through their school teams, the chance to show off their skills and have fun. It’s also thanks to some very dedicated team managers who continue to show their support year after year, by getting teams together and training them to compete, that the Games are such a success.”
