Tiverton Jobcentre relocation to Phoenix House

Posted on: 13 April 2016

Mid Devon District Council and the Department for Work and Pensions  announced on April 11 that Jobcentre services will operate from council premises at Phoenix House from autumn 2016.

Since November 2015 the two organisations have been investigating the possibilities of co-locating, so that services are available for local people in one place.

Stephen Walford, Chief Executive of Mid Devon District Council, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to provide co-located services to customers, as well as making the most effective use of our offices at Phoenix House and helping to deliver efficiency across the wider public sector property estate.”

Michelle Maslen from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset Jobcentre Plus said:  “We are looking forward to working in partnership alongside Mid Devon District Council to provide accessible services to the public.

Delivering the Jobcentre Plus service over the phone and internet has enabled us to review where and how we provide services to claimants.

By co-locating nearby with the district council we will get the best deal for claimants, staff and the taxpayer.”
