Tiverton EUE (Area B) Public Consultation, Development Management, Mid Devon District Council, Phoenix House, Tiverton EX16 6PP.
An area of land, 153ha in size, to the east of Tiverton, is allocated for development. A Masterplan, the Tiverton EUE Masterplan SPD, was adopted in 2014. Whilst it covered the whole of the site it was not able to consider all of the site to the same degree of detail. This was due to the absence of some site-wide survey work on land to the rear of properties on the southern side of Post Hill. (The area of land known as Area B). MDDC planning policy requires the whole area to be masterplanned prior to any development happening on this area.
Before a Masterplan can be adopted, two stages of public consultation are required. The first consultation stage considers the scope of the Masterplan and any key issues. The second consultation stage considers the draft masterplan following receipt of comments that have arisen through stage one. This consultation event is the first consultation stage. Mid Devon District Council would welcome your comments on some of the key issues that the Council have identified.
Councillor Richard Chesterton, Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development said, “This consultation event provides a great opportunity for interested individuals, groups and organisations to make their comments known on how they would like to see the final area of land at the Tiverton Eastern Urban Extension to be developed, including the number of homes built, how the land will be accessed, which areas should be built first and where areas of green open space should be located, used and managed. This is a fantastic opportunity for the public to influence how the future development of Tiverton looks.’’
