‘The Deli Shack’ comes to Tiverton Pannier Market
Posted on: 10 October 2013
Iain and Lisa Thompson, proprietors of well-known delicatessen ‘The Deli Shack’, have moved into a fabulous new location at Tiverton Pannier Market.
Local chef Iain, who has traded successfully at the Market since 2005, has been keen to extend his range and facilities and thanks the Market and Mid Devon District Council for the help and support he has been given to achieve his dream.
“I have nothing but praise for Mid Devon District Council and the innovative thinking that is continuing to make the market a focus for success in the town. If a new business is committed and determined to do well they will receive a great deal of help from Market Manager Chris Firth and the team at MDDC”.
“We are determined to give the area the best possible Delicatessen and will be stocking some of the world’s finest cheeses including local artisan products, charcuterie, tapas, condiments and cooking ingredients.”
Iain, who was Commercial Director for a large international company, downsized in 2004 and came to Mid Devon to be trained as a chef at Petroc.
Lisa, Marketing Director of another large company, said: “The past five years have been very hard work but we are now beginning to see some satisfying results. Our passion for fine food is shared by more and more people and we are now able to offer our customers some amazing products.”
Chris Firth said: “This has been a very satisfying project and leads the way forward for more innovation to secure a focus for the town. Mid Devon District Council has some fantastic proposals that will make a significant difference to regeneration and the next five years are going to be an exciting time for the Market and town”.
“There are many successful businesses in town that started at the Market, the latest — Kylie from ‘Orchid Occasions’ who is opening a shop at 2 Fore Street this coming Saturday. We wish Iain, Lisa and Kylie the very best and are certain they will have a bright future”.
