Take your selfie with our elfie
Posted on: 24 November 2016
Elves have started appearing in shops around Tiverton; ten businesses have found a new magical resident in their building this week.
The elves are here as part of the new ‘Tiverton Elf Trail’. Everyone is invited to find the ten elves hidden around town and post their selfies with the elves to the @TivvyElves Facebook page for a chance to win a family ticket to Tivoli Cinema.
The Elf Trail runs from 1 to 24 December 2016, with the prize draw taking place on 30 December 2016. Tiverton Library will do book readings from ‘The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition’ children’s picture book (the inspiration behind ‘The Elf on the Shelf’).
Mid Devon District Council (MDDC) is running the event in Tiverton. Zoë Lentell, Economic Regeneration and Growth Officer at MDDC said “the aim of the trail is to encourage people to shop locally this Christmas. We hope this trail will encourage customers to visit several shops across the town and see what fabulous gifts Tiverton’s shops have to offer”.
You can find an elf located at each of the following businesses:
- Busy Bees
- Jo Amor
- Sarah’s Kitchen
- Tiverton Gifts and Crafts shared with VELVET Café
- Tiverton Library
- Tiverton Market
- Tiverton Museum / Tourist Information Centre
Over the Advent period, these businesses will be posting a photo diary of all the things their elves get up to and where to find them. Follow us on Facebook @TivvyElves and remember to tag your selfies #TivvyElves and/or #TivvyElfTrail to be entered into the prize draw.
Prize Draw Terms and Conditions:
1) Competition runs from 1 December 2016 to 24 December 2016. 2) One lucky winner will be drawn at random on 30 December from the selfies posted to the Facebook page @TivvyElves to win a £50 gift voucher for Merlin Cinemas. 3) Each selfie posted with #TivvyElves and/or #TivvyElfTrail counts as 1 entry. 4) If a person posts selfies with all 10 of our elves, they will gain a bonus entry into the draw. 5) Entrants need to make their post public so that we can see it. 6) Children will need the permission of their parent/guardian before sharing their selfie online and in compliance with terms and conditions of use for Facebook. 7) This competition is run by Mid Devon District Council. 8) This competition is in no way affiliated to or supported by Facebook.
Finally (and most importantly) have fun finding the elves and visiting your local shops and businesses! We look forward to seeing your selfies
