Success for Land Charges continues as team is shortlisted for a third time in national awards

Mid Devon District Council Land Charges team have again been shortlisted in the national Land Data awards for 2019.
Pauline Davey and Donna Oswald have been recognised once more for their high quality service, as well as performance in their specialist field.
Pauline, a Senior Local Land Charges Officer and Donna who works as an Assistant Local Land Charges Officer, are responsible for preparing local authority searches on behalf of solicitors and conveyancers who have been employed by potential house buyers.
With only ten local authorities in each category, Pauline and Donna have been nominated in the Customer Satisfaction for Local Authority Searches and Best Performing NLIS Level 3 Local Land Charges Department categories.
This trend follows their previous successes; in 2016, Pauline and Donna won the Customer Satisfaction Award and were highly commended in the Most Improved NLIS Services Award, and in 2018, they were highly commended again for the Customer Satisfaction Award. The awards are run by Land Data which is the National Land Information Service (NLIS) regulator.
The awards celebrate the successes of Local Authority Local Land Charges departments across England and Wales during the past year. This year the shortlist showcases local authorities and individuals who have all demonstrated excellence, adaptability to change and a willingness to improve, despite cost pressures and continued upheaval in the market.
Kathryn Tebbey, Group Manager Legal Services and Monitoring Officer at the Council said:
“For Pauline and Donna to be nominated for a third time in only four years, is testament to the excellent service they provide at local and national level. Their own targets for completing search requests are already very tight and yet they still manage to beat them, time and time again.
“To hear they’ve been shortlisted for the Customer Satisfaction Award again is very welcome. This category is nominated by solicitors and licensed conveyancers from around the country, who are asked to nominate and provide feedback on the teams which they believe are consistently committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
“After they were highly commended in the Customer Satisfaction Award in 2018, I’m hoping their success continues at the award ceremony in March.”
Donna, who has worked for the Council for four years, and Pauline who has a wealth of experience with 19 years’ service, will be heading to the awards ceremony in Birmingham in March for the final.
The Local Land Charges Register contains all the Local Land Charges entries for every property within the area served by its Local Authority. Information held includes information about whether the land or property has listed status, is in a conservation area or has planning consent attached.
Searches can also show information such as planning history, building control applications, Public Rights of Way and other pending matters that could affect the property in some way.Posted in:
