Recycle for Mid Devon – primary school drawing competition

Posted on: 22 May 2015

Winning entries will have a recycling lorry named after them
with their artwork displayed on the cab

To coincide with the launch of ‘plastic fantastic’, which sees the introduction of mixed plastics and cardboard to Mid Devon’s kerbside recycling collection, we are running a competition for all Mid Devon primary school children. We would like children of primary school age to enter a drawing which shows what Mid Devon District Council collects as part of its kerbside recycling service. The drawings should give a positive message to inspire people to recycle, or show what they can recycle in Mid Devon. They need to be A4 in size, in landscape, using paint, crayon, chalk or any other type of drawing material, but not photographs, sorry. They can be done in school or at home, but schools may wish to submit more than one entry. However, only one entry per pupil will be accepted and the judge’s decision will be final.

Other than these rules, pupils can use their imaginations so let the creative juices flow! So, good luck!!

The competition entry closing date is midnight on Tuesday 30 June 2015 and winning pupils will be notified by Thursday 10 July.

All entries must be posted or delivered to:
Waste & Recycling
Mid Devon District Council
Phoenix House
Phoenix Lane
Tiverton EX16 6HE

On the reverse of the drawing, please clearly add the title ‘RECYCLING DRAWING COMPETITION’ and the following details:
Child’s Name
Age
Home Address
Name of Primary School

Terms and conditions for entry:
• Entry to the competition is open to all pupils attending primary schools in the Mid Devon District.
• Mid Devon District Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed or misdirected entries.
• We will appoint a fair and impartial judging panel to judge the entries and select winners.
• Winning pupils must be willing to participate in publicity following the competition and consent to Mid Devon District Council and other partners using their drawings for publicity purposes.
