You’ll soon be able to put mixed plastics out for recycling
This summer, we’re introducing some changes to your kerbside recycling collections. You’ll be able to put mixed plastics (all kinds of plastic apart from film) in your black recycling box and you’ll be getting a new green box for cardboard.
We’re rolling out the changes in phases across different parts of Mid Devon over a two-month period. Between mid-May and June, keep an eye open for a card we’ll be sending you in the post outlining the new scheme. A couple of weeks after you get your card, we’ll be delivering your new green recycling box for cardboard plus a leaflet explaining the changes in more detail.
What you need to know
- There is nothing you need to do differently just yet – wait until you get your new green box and leaflet
- Your collection day will not change
- Your non-recyclable waste (black sacks for landfill) won’t change
- From mid-May we’ll also have plenty of information about the new scheme on our website
In the autumn we’ll also be starting a weekly collection of food waste and a chargeable garden waste collection service. We will be sending you information about these changes nearer the time.Posted in: Bins
