New Town Centre Manager – Tiverton
Posted on: 31 August 2016
Following the departure of the former Town Centre Manager, Rachel Jenman, Mid Devon District Council is delighted to announce that as of 1 September, Alan Ottey (currently Tiverton’s Market Manager) will take on this role.
Alan will still be based at the Pannier Market and will continue to be the Market Manager for 2.5 days a week and lead on town centre projects the remaining 2.5 days of the week.
With 20 years of experience of town centre (and market) management, including projects at Hinckley and Bosworth, as well as Nuneaton and Bedworth, where he won multiple awards, Alan has experience of developing proper town centre partnerships with businesses, working closely with the town centre business and communities, developing various town centre strategies and attracting increased footfall.
Alan commented “I believe there is a great deal of potential in Tiverton for increasing business and visitors. This has got to be done by all of us working together.”
Zoë Lentell, Economic Regeneration and Growth Officer at the District Council, will be covering as Market Manager in Alan’s place on his town centre management days. Zoë is the Event Manager for the Electric Nights Streetfood events at Tiverton Market and will be leading on projects such as developing a website for the Pannier Market.
Alan will be visiting local businesses over the next few weeks and will be working with the Tiverton Town Centre Forum to deliver the new Town Centre Strategy and Action Plan; which links with the Market Strategy. The closing date for consultation responses on the two strategies is Friday 2 September. Alan and Zoë will be reviewing these responses and the final strategies will be presented to the Economy Policy Development Group on 15 September 2016.Posted in: Business & Economy | Community | My Council
