Last Sunday, 6 July, saw the official opening of the new artificial turf pitch at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre Crediton by Councillor Colin Slade, cabinet member for community wellbeing. Councillor Slade said: “it was a pleasure to be asked to open the new pitch which is already being well used by local sports groups. It will be a great asset to the facilities already available at the Centre.” Funding for the pitch was gained through a grant from Sport England.
The opening event was followed by an adult football tournament played on the new pitch which was won by Mutz Nutz who convincingly beat The Football Sexuals in the final 5:1. Player of the tournament was James Stanbury who played for the Lords Meadow team who were knocked out in the semi-final by the eventual winners.Posted in: Community | Leisure
