Introducing a new friend at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre

Posted on: 30 August 2013

There is a new addition to the Mid Devon Leisure family in Crediton – a lovable fish who loves to get out and about meeting everyone as the new centre mascot.

Fish’s best friend, Armband Alfie has a blast at Exe Valley Leisure Centre, meeting children, being the guest of honour at events, having his picture taken and getting out and about spreading the word with his assistant about water safety and the importance of learning to swim. There’s nothing he likes better than making a surprise appearance at birthday parties to wish the special birthday boy or girl many happy returns! This happy fish can’t wait to do the same, however at the moment has no name, and would like some help from the children of Crediton to give him one.

During September and October pick up an entry form from the leisure centre reception, colour in the picture of the fish and give him a name. The child (of any age) coming up with the best name will win a goody bag after half term and will officially name the fish at the leisure centre. Centre staff are looking forward to decorating the reception area with the colouring pictures and rest assured that their new friend is already getting pretty exciting at the thought of being the centre of attention! Fish has asked for his own Facebook page, but to start with is allowed to appear on the Lords Meadow page www.facebook.com/lordsmeadow  We don’t want this new found fame going to his head at such a young age!

Here’s the cheerful youngster, pictured with another cheerful fellow, Lee Chester, Centre Manager.
