“Functional Training” equipment further enhances stunning fitness studio at Lords Meadow

Posted on: 3 October 2013

In November Lords Meadow Leisure Centre will be launching their new ‘Functional Training’ equipment to add to the already state of the art Fitness Studio, opened six months ago.

Functional training utilises the body’s own weight with a simple yet amazingly versatile pulley system that enables a wide variety of resistance exercises to be performed. Bodyweight training can be used by people of all levels of fitness for a variety of benefits. The ‘CrossCore 180’ can utilise kettlebells, resistance straps, sandbags and even resistance bands to enhance the range of exercise and range of rotation possibilities.

Shaun Gorman, Duty Manager responsible for Fitness at Lords Meadow has been informed by ‘Powerhousefitness’, the UK’s only current supplier of the ‘CrossCore’ a.k.a. ‘War Machine’ equipment, that Lords Meadow will be the first commercial facility to have this equipment as part of the fitness studio provision. He also has more good news.

“We are also installing a much desired punch bag in the studio, making us heavy-weight contenders to be the best leisure centre in Devon….probably!”

Either way, the new equipment will bring variety and endless benefits to the fitness studio users at Lords Meadow. There will be instructor-led, small group sessions using the ‘War Machines’ that will motivate and inspire customers to explore every area of both their fitness and the equipment soon to be available at their local leisure centre.
