Farmers’ Market coming to Tiverton
Posted on: 19 November 2018
Friday 23rd November will see a new Farmers’ Market at Tiverton Pannier Market.
It will take place alongside the normal Friday Market and will occupy the South end of the site. The Farmers’ market will officially be operating between 9am and 2pm.
A number of new traders will be present offering specialist produce, as well as many of the regular traders who fall into the criteria of ‘Farmers’ Market traders’. All the traders are local and operate within a 30 mile radius of Tiverton.
Alan Ottey, Town Centre and Market Manager said: “People have been asking for some time whether we could have a Farmers’ Market and we’ve been working hard the last several months to secure enough traders for such an event. That hard work has paid off and we’re really excited to be able to offer this opportunity for both the traders and punters alike!”
Starting 23rd November, the Farmers’ Market will run every 4th Friday of the month alongside the normal Friday market, with the exception of Friday 21st December, where a special combined Christmas and Farmers’ Market will be held!
Alan added: “We’re expecting good attendances, which will create a nice buzzing environment. Not only will there be a good selection of local Farmers’ Market produce and products, but also the regular variety of goods on the general market. However, we do need the people of Mid Devon to come along and support it. Without their support, we won’t be able to continue running it.”
Other Farmers’ Markets are already held in Cullompton on the 2nd Saturday of each month, and in Crediton on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. The addition of a Farmers’ Market based in Tiverton not only forms part of the development of Tiverton’s Pannier Market, but will complete coverage in all three main towns in Mid Devon, providing further support for local businesses.Posted in: Community
