Clean bill of health for our accounts
Posted on: 3 October 2014
At a recent meeting of our Audit Committee, our external auditors, Grant Thornton, presented a report on the successful completion of the annual financial accounts and gave a view on how we achieve value for money in the services we deliver.
This report gave an unqualified opinion of our accounts which means that they show a correct ‘true and fair’ view of our financial position as at 31 March 2014.
In addition, the report concluded that with regard to value for money, we have proper arrangements in place to deliver accurate and effective use of our resources.
Councillor Neal Davey, our Cabinet Member for Finance, says: “this year’s report from Grant Thornton clearly demonstrates the level of accuracy in the Council’s financial reporting and shows that through sound strategic planning, the Council continues to remain in a very strong financial position.”Posted in: Business & Economy | Community | My Council
