Cabinet Recommends Allocating land at J27

Posted on: 15 September 2016

At a well-attended meeting of Mid Devon District Council’s Cabinet this morning (15th September), councillors heard at length from members of the public who had turned up to speak as well as from other councillors who wanted to give their views. After considering a report from the council’s Head of Planning, Jenny Clifford, on the implications of choosing to allocate a site at J27 for tourism, leisure and retail purposes, the Cabinet voted by a 5-2 majority to recommend that the site should be included within the local plan. This recommendation will now be considered at full council on 22nd September, where a final decision will be made.
