Aqua Obstacle Inflatable

Posted on: 12 February 2016

In order to put the ‘fun’ back into ‘funsplash’, Exe Valley Leisure Centre has recently purchased a 15 metre long inflatable obstacle course for the pool.

The inflatable fun sessions will be open to all children aged 8-16 years and will run on Tuesday and Thursday 2.45-3.45pm during the half term holiday and will continue weekly on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Each session will hold a maximum 50 children and tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis so no booking is required.

We are currently seeing a decline in the number of children within this 8-16 year age group and aim to reverse this trend over the next 12 months with the introductions of many new activities. The addition of the pool inflatable will help to encourage more children back to the pool. Research shows children now spend more than seven and a half hours a day in front of a screen (e.g., TV, videogames, computer). Regular physical activity in childhood and adolescence improves strength and endurance, helps build healthy bones and muscles, helps control weight, reduces anxiety and stress, increases self-esteem, and may improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Pool parties will also be introduced in the near future, for more information about this or any other facilities see the Exe Valley Leisure Centre website.
