A Masterplan for Tiverton Eastern Urban Extension – have your say

Posted on: 6 December 2013

Tiverton residents have an opportunity to comment on the Masterplan for the Tiverton Eastern Urban Extension planned for the Post Hill area. The area, to the east of Tiverton, is allocated in Mid Devon’s Development Plan for mixed housing and employment development. The plans incorporate green infrastructure as well as community facilities. Green infrastructure is open space with multiple environmental benefits, and is suitable for various uses such as sports facilities, allotments and wildlife habitats.

The first stage of consultation on the Masterplanning of the urban extension took place from 3-31May 2013. 141 representations were received and are available to view on the Mid Devon website. Design teams representing the two major landowners have taken views from this initial consultation into account and have developed a draft Masterplan for the Council to consider and consult upon. The Council is now asking residents for their views. This second stage of consultation will take place from 9 Dec – 1 Feb and is another opportunity for residents to have their say. The Masterplan, a summary and associated documents will be available to view from 9 December on the website at

and at the Council’s main office (Phoenix House Reception).
