Food Hygiene Refresher Training

Posted on: 14 January 2014

Keeping staff up to date with current regulations, documented food safety management systems such as Safer Food Better Business together with Council inspection strategies and interventions is essential when operating a compliant food business.

Staff awareness and understanding of good hygiene practices and documentation should also contribute to achieving a compliant business with a good hygiene rating award when routine inspections are carried out.

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health recommends that all food handlers should receive refresher and update training every three years.

Mid Devon District Council is now offering food hygiene refresher training. This is aimed primarily at food handlers who have previously obtained the Level 2 food hygiene award in catering.

We recognise that the previous full day courses placed time constraints and pressure on local food businesses. Therefore, this new 2-hour refresher / update course should assist in releasing staff and keep costs to a minimum.

The courses will start at 9.30 and finish at 11.30 at the Council offices in Tiverton at a cost of just £15 per person including refreshments and Certificate of attendance.

Scheduled dates for this course are currently:-

5 February 2014

16 April 2014

9 July 2014

1 October 2014

Booking forms can be downloaded from the Business and Licensing area of the Council’s website , or call 01884 255255 to make a booking.
